There’s plenty to do when you camp with us but once in awhile you find that you need some activities to keep the kids busy at the campsite. We have some ideas they will enjoy.
Once the sun begins to set you can show them how to make shadow animals. To do this, you just need a light source and a wall. For instance, you can make your hands look like a rabbit if you practice a little on the wall of a tent. You just have to set up a light or have someone hold it while you try making different shapes with your hands. Then, your kids can try to do the same thing which will be a lot of fun for them. If you need a refresher you can find some fun shapes to make in the video below.
Another idea involves a cardboard box. We all have photos of kids playing with the boxes their new toys came in. So, you can run with that concept and give each kid a cardboard box to sit in. Give them some art supplies and let them do some interior decorating. They will love it.
And, of course there are always puzzles, crosswords, sudoku, and even some very good educational apps for some quality screen time. We want you and the kids to have a blast on your camping trip. If you’re trying to settle them in or settle them down, some of these ideas may help.
